The Game Fair

The Game Fair is billed as the annual gathering for people passionate about countryside pursuits, and the Great British Countryside in all its glory.

What to expect at The Game Fair

Celebrating British field sports and country life, the event boasts a comprehensive itinerary for the whole family, including gundog handling, clay shooting, archery, fishing, falconry and ferreting. Visitors to The Game Fair can also enjoy a host of food, drink and shopping stalls as well as outdoor activities including off-road driving. The event is open from Friday at 6am until 7.30pm and then from 6am – 6pm over the weekend. You can camp at the event and also pre-book lunch.

Famous faces

Familiar faces you will spot in the crowd include the TV presenters from the BBC‘s popular Countryfile programme such as Matt Baker, who also presents The One Show, Ellie Harrison and Adam Henson.

Event hotspots and hospitality

Many people camp for the duration of the event. The Game Fair Enclosure will be open to visitors who wish to enjoy Gold or Platinum packages for the day and provides a premium experience of the Fair.

The Gregg Wallace Shot to Pot Restaurant will be open daily, featuring a menu designed by Gregg himself to satisfy hungry visitors across breakfast, brunch and lunch, on a first come, first serve basis. The rustic menu features a number of game dishes, in keeping with the three-day event’s theme.

Did you know

The Game Fair is the largest festival of the countryside in the whole of Europe.

The event first ran in 1958 and was a huge success. However, the budget had overrun by £300, so the first CLA Game Fair had actually cost £800 to put on.
