The Open Championship, often referred to as The Open or the British Open, is the oldest of the four major championships in professional golf. It is the only 'major' outside the United States.
What to expect at The Open
The Open is currently the third golf major of the year and takes place between the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship. This year it will happen at Carnoustie. The weekly ticket will allow you to see the world’s greatest players across 8 days of golf’s most prestigious Championship but there are also daily tickets available too.
Famous faces from the world of golf will be spotted playing and supporting. Lindsey Vonn has also attended, and Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael-Douglas are among high-profile supporters of the sport.
Event hotspots and hospitality
Many people walk the whole course and watch the golfers in action, while others may decide to remain at one hole for part of the day. There are several hospitality options at The Open.

You need to dress smartly for golf. However, we mean smart polo shirts and chinos for men rather than suits. It is also a preppy style for ladies, with tailored trousers, fitted polo shirts and neat jackets among the popular items of clothing. Wear smart, flat shoes for walking.
