Germany leads at Badminton and British hopes lie with Rosalind Canter

Ahead of the showjumping, Rosalind Canter is the highest-placed of the Brits in sixth position

The final phase of the competition for Badminton Horse Trial takes place today as the last-standing horse and rider combinations head in to the Showjumping arena after a thrilling day of Cross Country yesterday.

Germany are dominating the top of the leader board with Ingrid Klimke having a small advantage over the reigning Olympic champion Michael Jung. If she manages to maintain her lead, she will become the first female rider to win the event in a decade.

Young British riders are doing well and there are two inside the top ten. Rosalind Canter is the highest-placed of these in sixth position. Oliver Townend is lying in seventh. Eventing legend Mark Todd has two horses in the top ten at the moment.
