A new theatre for Nevill Holt Opera

This year’s festival opens on Thursday and it will be hosted in a temporary building while work continues on the new theatre

Work has started on a new theatre for Nevill Holt Opera. This year’s opera festival begins on Thursday but it will be hosted in a temporary building as work continues on the new theatre that will open in 2018.

Situated in a Grade II* listed Stable Block courtyard, this landmark project is designed by Stirling Prize winning architects Witherford Watson Mann. They are busy working with acoustic and theatre design experts Sound Space Vision in order to create a brand new home for the popular opera festival. An artistic impression (above) has been released to show a glimpse of what is to come.

Meanwhile, this year’s Nevill Holt Opera Festival presents Tosca, which has stunning music that accompanies a gripping story of love, passion and betrayal. Guests will dine in the stunning grounds of Nevill Holt while admiring the sculpture collection and sipping Pommery champagne.
