After a wet and snowy few weeks, the sun shone brightly over Cheltenham for the first day of The Festival. The crowds certainly appreciated the fine weather and they flocked to The Festival to enjoy top class racing and the start of Sloaney Season.

Among those in attendance were Zara and Mike Tindall. The theme for Ladies Day tomorrow is #ColourMeMarch and Zara led the way by adding a splash of colour to her outfit with a bright red Paul Costelloe bag. Meanwhile, Mike opted for tweed, along with the majority of visitors to Cheltenham today. Princess Anne was also spotted in the crowds and AP McCoy was present. Fashion designer Jade Holland Cooper was in attendance and her brand Holland Cooper are sponsoring the leading jockey award.

Highlights on the track included Barry Geraghty’s victory in the Unibet Champion Hurdle with Buveur d’Air. Lizzie Kelly secured a victory for the ladies by winning the Ultima Handicap Steeple Chase with Coo Star Sivola.
