Sloaney Season's tips on what to wear to Henley Royal Regatta...
If you are planning what to wear to Henley Royal Regatta, you should be mindful that some parts of this event have a strict dress code. In particular, if you are planning on visiting Stewards’ Enclosure there is a very strict dress (and mobile phone) policy here. Ladies are required to wear dresses or skirts with a hemline below the knee. It is also customary for ladies to wear hats when planning what to wear to Henley Regatta in the Stewards’ Enclosure. While the recommendations are rigid, Henley welcomes individual style. You can opt for high street, designer or vintage creations and all of these will be suitable for the event.
Gentlemen are required to wear lounge suits, or jackets or blazers with flannels, together with a tie or cravat. You only gain admission to this part of Henley by being a member or a member’s guest and there is a long waiting list to become a member.
For general attendance, Sloaney Season recommends a smart summer dress for ladies and jacket and chinos for men. There is no official dress code for the Regatta Enclosure but guests still take the opportunity to look smart and chic. You will definitely see some gentlemen wearing rowing blazers.
If you plan just to be on the banks for the occasion, you can go very casual and do not have to be concerned with various protocol. There are lots of different bars and hospitality areas at this event. When you are planning what to wear to Henley Regatta it is important to check if there is a particular dress code for your area. This will likely be stated clearly on your invitation if you have been asked to join guests for hospitality.
